DOCUMENTARY
The Documentary Section brings maritime realities to life through powerful visual storytelling. Each C.A.R.c.E. documentary explores critical themes such as coastal community resilience, marine biodiversity, maritime security, and cultural heritage showcasing both challenges and triumphs from India’s coastline. These documentaries are grounded in rigorous research and fieldwork, blending academic insight with emotional resonance. They serve as visual narratives that amplify the voices of coastal citizens, fishermen, women entrepreneurs, scientists, and policymakers working to protect and develop India’s maritime frontiers.
Our films not only inform but inspire. Whether highlighting the impact of climate change on coastal villages, exposing issues like illegal fishing or marine pollution, or celebrating traditional sea-based livelihoods, each documentary reflects our “think-and-do” philosophy combining knowledge with action. Created in collaboration with young filmmakers, researchers, and local communities, our documentaries also serve as educational resources for universities, NGOs, and training institutions. Through cinematic storytelling, we aim to make maritime research accessible, relatable, and transformative.
Every frame tells a story of the sea of resilience, innovation, and hope along India’s 11,098.81 km coastline.
